In the article it is noted that a strategic objective of the industrial enterprises is ensuring their steady competitive growth. Achievement of a goal results in need of planning of innovative activity. The technique of selection of the improving process innovations applying for inclusion in the plan of innovative activity in the conditions of limitation of the budget, based on use of integrated indicators of prospects and probability of successful implementation of projects is considered.

The article considers implementation of improving process innovative projects can cause a set of essential changes in enterprise activity. Nature of these changes can be various and depends on the project purposes. The authors note that assessing the attractiveness of projects in the planning stage of innovation, it is necessary to take decisions based on multi-criterion comparing projects in several indicators simultaneously. The paper offers the tools of multi-criterion assessment of improving process innovative projects ranging and choosing the most preferable projects for realization.

The article considers the process innovations as a source of achievement of competitive advantages of the industrial enterprise. It is necessary to justify approaching to an estimation of their reliability in this connection at planning of innovative projects. The authors offer the methodical providing an integrated assessment of feasibility of projects of the technical and technological direction with use of the probabilistic and statistical approach, allowing comprehensively considering risk at investment of the specified projects at each stage of an innovative cycle.

Subject The article deals with integrated assessment of petrochemical enterprises' preparedness for innovation project implementation.
Objectives The study focuses on developing and practical testing the methodology for overall assessment of preparedness of petrochemical enterprises to realize innovation projects.
Methods We employ the systems approach, general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, expert, statistical, and graphic methods and techniques.
Results We have developed a method to perform an integrated assessment of preparedness of petrochemical sector enterprises to implement innovative solutions. It enables to determine their rating for taking management decisions by the parent company of a holding group.
Conclusions The scientific merit of the paper is that it presents a new methodological approach to assess petrochemical enterprises in terms of their preparedness for innovation project implementation. The practical significance is that it highlights the importance of using a system of indicators which considers external and internal drivers when the management of a holding take decisions to invest in a subsidiary.


Certain aspects of industrial enterprise's economic security based on the assessment of organizational and technological level of production

Subject The article addresses the assessment of organizational and technological level of production as an indicator of efficiency in ensuring the technical and technological safety of the enterprise.
Objectives The research aims to work out methodological recommendations to assess the organizational and technological level of production, which enables to estimate the effect of expected actions related to technical and technological safety, and to manage the entire economic security of industrial enterprise.
Methods In the course of the study, we applied the systems approach, general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, logical and statistical analysis.
Results We specified major directions of actions reflecting the technical and technological safety of industrial enterprise, identified groups of indicators to assess organizational and technological level of production, and offered methodological recommendations to calculate an indicator helping to manage enterprise's economic security. If used in practice, the indicator will enable timely measures against destructive threats and bankruptcy.
Conclusions The offered indicator of technical and technological safety may serve as a target criterion in the optimization of a portfolio of projects focused on operating efficiency enhancement under limited investment resources.


Creating a System of Indicators to Assess the Readiness of Petrochemical Enterprises to Implement Innovation Projects

Importance Nowadays, petrochemical enterprises show increasing interest in various methods to assess innovative capacity and to manage innovation-driven development. The petrochemical industry is generally represented by large holdings. Therefore, it is critical for them to have a methodology to assess the readiness of subsidiaries incorporated in a holding to introduce innovation.
Objectives The study aims to create a system of indicators to assess the readiness of petrochemical enterprises to implement innovation projects, considering the specifics of the industry and the interest of the parent company of the holding in high return on investment.
Methods The study draws on the systems approach, general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, and expert, statistical, graphical methods and techniques.
Results The analysis of the petrochemical industry helped define its status and development prospects. We created a system of indicators consisting of five groups to determine the appeal of petrochemical enterprises. The offered system assesses the internal environment of the organization and demonstrates how the latter is prepared to introduce innovation from the perspective of its production, finance, personnel, etc.
Conclusions If used in practice, the offered system will enable a detailed due diligence of petrochemical enterprises and assist the holding's parent in making management decisions when preparing plans for investing in subsidiaries.


Techniques to assess the quality of planning the implementation of process innovation projects at industrial enterprises

Subject Any innovative policy of an industrial enterprise implies building a portfolio of innovation projects. Due to the need to make decisions involving assessment and scientifically based selection of projects for their further implementation, it is crucial to know how reliable the developed plan is. Therefore, assessing the quality of plans for enterprise's innovative development is rather relevant.
     Objectives The study aims to work out methodological recommendations to assess the quality of plans for innovative development in the sphere of engineering and technological projects at industrial enterprises.
     Methods The study rests on the analysis of scientific works of domestic researchers on various methods for developing the planning quality criteria. We formulate methodological recommendations to assess both qualitative and quantitative side of the process of planning the innovation activity in the sphere of process innovation.
     Results We specify basic actions reflecting process innovation projects. We also present an index showing the increase in organizational and technological level of manufacture to assess the quality of innovation planning. The index enables to link the result of innovation with productivity and competitiveness enhancement.
     Conclusions To control the plan of innovative activity of enterprises and to identify the most effective projects for technical upgrading, it is expedient to use an index demonstrating an increase in organizational and technological level of manufacture. If applied in practice, the index will facilitate management decision-making when planning engineering and technological activities for future periods.
