Importance This article deals with the issues related to the assessment of the performance of local authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Objectives The aim of the article is to elaborate a methodology for assessing the effectiveness of local authorities taking into account the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the socio-economic development of territories.
Methods For the study, I used structural, logical, comparative, economic-statistical, and mathematical analyses, a systems approach, generalization, and grouping.
Results The article offers an assessment algorithm, which includes the choice of indicators, a method of calculating each indicator, point scoring, and the rating of local authorities by efficiency level.
Relevance Assessing the socio-economic development of territories helped group regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan by level of efficiency of local authorities.
