Importance The article discusses the issues of development of Yamal's regional economy, taking into consideration the creation of a rational system of gas transportation in the region.
Objectives The article aims to study the current trends and prospects of natural gas production in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, analyzing the existing gas transportation system. It develops approaches to the formation of a sound gas transmission system of the region, taking into account the medium-and long-term changes in the international market.
Methods For the study, I used economic-statistical and logical analysis methods.
Results I present my own grounds for the development of a rational system of gas transportation in the Yamal Peninsula region.
Conclusions To form a rational Arctic marine system of natural gas transportation in the region on the Yamal Peninsula, it is necessary to continue developing the already running liquefied natural gas projects and initiate a public support for new ones, based on deposits of Yamal and the surrounding petroleum regions; in the medium term, start forming the domestic fleet of methane carriers; get PAO Gazprom involved in the liquefied natural gas production within the Yamal megaproject.
