Subject The article studies the processes conducive to innovative development of the national economy in terms of the backlog from the developed countries and the need to address the crisis phenomena.
Objectives The aim of the work is to develop an approach to providing the innovative development of economy based on formation of industrial trajectory by targeting key system settings.
Methods The provisions to surmount the crisis by the economic system through innovative development and changing the technological mode are a methodological basis of the work. As well, we used the methods of comparative analysis, theoretical modelling, induction, and synthesis and statistical methods.
Results We have analyzed the dynamics of development of the national economy by level of global competitiveness and innovation index, as well as in terms of high-tech products. All that confirmed the need for structural changes. We substantiated that the economic growth depends on the interrelated behavior of three main processes: resources, innovative development, and manufacturing process. We propose to designate the behavior as an industrial development path.
Conclusions and Relevance For the domestic economy, the organization of innovative process based on rational use of resources for the subsequent changes in production is very essential. To ensure the priority development strategy of the economy, it requires new industrialization on the basis of the proposed model of formation of a new pathway, which will assess the forces facilitating and impeding an economic growth. The provisions can be taken into account in shaping the strategy of advanced development through innovation in the country.
