Importance The article discusses the risks and threats to the regional labor market, as well as the issues related to employment.
Objectives The paper aims to study the risks and threats in the labor market of the Republic of Bashkortostan, identifying the characteristics of their development and major employment problems in the region, and make a nationwide comparison of trends in the sphere of employment with labor markets in other regions.
Methods For the study, we used comparative, economic and statistical methods of analysis, and statistics.
Results As recommendations, we offer a mechanism to eliminate the risks and threats to the regional labor market, which is to improve the demographic situation, well-being of the population, and reduce unemployment.
Conclusions We determined that the changes in the sectoral structure of employment of the Republic of Bashkortostan are accompanied by the outflow of labor from major manufacturing industries, and increasing employment in services.
