Private subsidiary farming in ensuring food security in the region

Importance The article considers the problems of the development of subsidiary individual holdings, which keep their stable position among agricultural producers, and even markedly increase the production volume. For the case study, I consider the situation in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Objectives The paper aims to determine the role and importance of personal part-time farms of the population in the region's food security ensuring.
Methods For the study, I used comparative economic and statistical methods of analysis and the official statistics.
Conclusions Currently, individual auxiliary households outpace agricultural organizations on certain types of agricultural production. Personal subsidiary farms of villagers are seen as the most important source of their existence and survival in a time of economic crisis. A personal subsidiary plot is an important factor for sustainable development of rural territories of the Russian Federation and the country's food security.
