Subject The theme of this work is the method of assessing the impact of Government support for innovation activity in the regions. The subject is the evaluation of the impact of Government support for innovation activity in the regions. Objective The purpose of this work is to define a method for assessing the impact of Government support for innovation activity in the regions. Methods In the course of the research, I used graphic and tabular ways to present information, as well as other research methods, such as generalization, synthesis, comparison, and grouping. The work compares the impact of Government support for innovation activity in the Republic of Komi and Moscow. Results In the Komi Republic case, I have analyzed the cost-effectiveness of subsidies to support the innovation sphere, as well as the share of "survival" of innovation projects after receiving the grant. In addition, I have formed a success rate of public support for innovation, based on economic, social and strategic indicators of a project. Use of this factor on the example of the Komi Republic has allowed determining the extent of the impact of two types of State support. Also, I make certain proposals for improving the evaluation system of innovation project of the subject of innovation that claims to receive State subsidies. These proposals include the formation of the requirement for the provision of information on subjects' current economic results and the inclusion in the evaluation system the lifetime project of the enterprise, claiming support. Relevance The results of the study allow formulating possible directions of the development of innovation policy in the region. They are useful for both the Federal and regional State authorities.
