In the article development of nonferrous metallurgy in the Republic North Ossetia -Alania (on an example of JSC "Electrozinc") is analyzed. Vertical integration of backbone sectors of the industry, such as nonferrous metallurgy, is not only rather effective strategy of formation of investment resources, but also the instrument of increase of economic efficiency of the enterprises.
