Conceptual bases of management of monoprofile citiy development

In the article the opinions of experts, economists, sociologists, geographers concerning category "monogorod" definition in the modern world are considered, the author's characteristic of this concept is offered. The author gives special attention to typology of monoprofile territories, allocating their classification signs. The main approaches to management of development of the monoprofile territories, offered by scientific community are generalized.
