Methods The research involves methods of structural and functional analysis, multivariate statistical and comparative analysis, traditional techniques for economic analysis and synthesis. To measure the severity of the crisis situation, I apply the band theory.
Results Analyzing risk triggers that directly affect the labor market, I find the most dangerous threats to the economic security. I provide my comprehensive view on the unemployment, study trends in the number of population and pay level. The article displays how population migration and crime affects the labor market. I conduct a comparative analysis of labor market indicators in the Republic of Mordovia and their thresholds. I assessed the severity of the crisis situation in the labor market with respect to the indicators. The article presents forecast parameters in this segment of socio-economic relations.
Conclusions and Relevance Sufficient labor force and public wellbeing are one of the drivers of economic security and sustainable development in the region. The crime level was found to be the most menacing issues in Mordovia's labor market. The findings can be used by governmental authorities to outline programs and strategies for developing the labor market, social security doctrine and in practice of labor and employment committees.
