Importance The way the quality of working life influences teachers' health becomes a more important issue in the education sector. Teachers' work implies serious psychological and emotional tensions, thus sometimes result in health detriment. Objectives The research analyzes definitions of the quality of working life and identifies what factors influence it. We also study what effect quality factors of working life have on health. Relying upon regulatory and legislative documents and statistical data, we substantiate the big significance of protecting and strengthening working population's health, and analyze the specifics of teachers' professional activities in higher schools and their impact on health. Methods The research is based on reviews of scholarly literature, legislative and regulatory documents, description, analysis, synthesis. Results The notion of the quality of working life is a multifaceted phenomenon that needs to be considered comprehensively. It is a compound of multiple factors. Each factor influences human health. Teachers are exposed to regular intellectual and psychological strains, thus putting their health at stake. Conclusions and Relevance It is health that constitutes a vital and crucial condition for successful professional life of a teacher. Therefore, it is very important to create favorable and sound conditions for working with students and colleagues.
