Importance Network warfare is one of the most dangerous and productive forms of hybrid wars the West wages against Russia. This warfare pursues taking complete and absolute control over all parties to existing or possible military actions and their total manipulation in any situation – war or peace.
Objectives The research examines the substance and forms of the West's hybrid war against the Russian Federation, analyzes possible options and consequences of the network scenario, and attempts to identify genuine goals of this aggression.
Methods The research involves the methodological framework for contemporary institutionalism, analysis in terms of military politics and military economic aspects.
Results Assuming that the armed conflict in Ukraine may, in theory, ignite another world war the USA unleashes against Russia to retain its global leadership, it is necessary to arrange for a reliable order and determine activities of each party precisely so to curb the escalating conflict and overwhelm it. It is critical to consider timeliness and efficiency of measures for organizing effective counteraction to the network aggression, possibility to activate all necessary resources and prevent the enemy from subduing them or limit their use otherwise.
Conclusions and Relevance As envisaged in the network defensive strategies, there should be a combination of so different resources and network technologies, which the aggressor cannot overwhelm. The network warfare can be won with network means if effective and booming technologies are respectively adapted to conditions and objectives.
