Importance The article reviews the current need to create a national and public model of controllable political socialization of the Russian youth.
Objectives The research examines activities of governmental and civil institutions, which are supposed to carry out controllable socialization of the Russian young people. I also analyze issues of creating an effective model of political socialization as part of Russia's national security.
Methods The theoretical and methodological framework comprises ideas of A.A. Vilkov, V.N. Konyshev, R. Merelman, A.V. Ponedelkov who specialize in political socialization of the youth and Russia’s national security. Studying political socialization in the context of the national security, I applied institutional, systemic and structural and dialectical methods, which allowed for common and specific aspects to be found.
Results The article displays the need to create a controllable national model for political socialization of the Russian youth, pursuing the national security and improvement of laws that govern the process. I also determined the dialectical role civil and governmental institutions played in this process.
Conclusions and Relevance The research has certain significance since it evaluates the political socialization process in relation to the Russian youth in the context of national security. I conclude that the youth should take an active and immediate part in political processes in the Russian society.
