Importance The article examines the approach to a comparative evaluation of the economic power of the leading industrially developed and developing countries.
Objectives The research compares and evaluates the economic power of the leading industrially developed and developing countries.
Methods The research focuses on the key economic power indicators of developed (developing) States. Based on statistical and econometric methods, I assess retrospects and prospects of changes in the economic power of China, USA, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, Western Europe, India, Russia/USSR.
Results I propose an approach to a comparative evaluation of the economic power of the leading industrially developed and developing countries. I also analyze how the production of certain products (work, services) is significant for the economic power of the leading States in the current circumstances.
Conclusions and Relevance The economic power of the leading States can be presented as the percentage of their gross domestic product in the global gross product. Considering imperatives of the scientific and technological revolution, it is still important to timely increment the production of innovative products (services, work). Such priorities of technological development can be identified using the proposed approach to a comparative evaluation of the economic power of the leading industrially developed and developing countries.
