In the article the main approaches to the study of monetary impacts on the economy are disclosed. Capabilities and limitations of using monetary regulators in the Russian economy are identified. The analysis of the effectiveness of the transmission mechanism of monetary policy is carried out. The ways of improving the functional efficiency of monetary policy instruments in the domestic economy are substantiated.
