The human capital is one of the main factors of economic growth and increase of competitiveness of economy. Process of reorientation of the Russian economy from mainly raw type on innovative, socially oriented economy is accompanied by reconsideration of a role of the person in this process. For today there are the initiatives of the government directed on high-quality development of the human capital. As a result the general assessment of investments into the human capital in Russia and in the world at the moment is carried out; structural characteristics of the human capital, and also its influence on behavior of individuals in education and on a labor market are investigated.
