The reform of public finance of the Russian empire in the early nineteenth century

The article discussed the situation in the management of public finance, as it happened in the early 19th century. The ascent to the throne of Alexander first marked the beginning of the reforms that are closely associated with the name of M. Speransky. It was his ideas, outlined in "Plan of finance", formed the basis of the reform. The author`s conclusion. Despite the fact that the main goal was not achieved, implemented measures helped to stabilize the situation in the sector in the short term. In some respects the ideas of the plan ahead of their time and were implemented only after many decades.
