Importance Coaching is one of the most important elements of training the sports reserve in Russia. Nowadays, the concept of coaching work is practically absent in Russian economic and sociological literature. In this article, coaching is considered as a specific subsystem of social labor, which has certain specifics of its functioning.
Objectives The purpose of the study is to develop an original methodology to measure the socio-economic efficiency of coaching.
Methods We employ methods of logical and statistical analysis, a systems approach and functional approach to the assessment of the content of labor.
Results The paper identifies six stages in measuring the efficiency of coaching labor in the Russian Federation and offers 15 indicators of efficiency in the context of five groups of coaching functions. The indicators are divided into two groups: constant and dynamic. We developed a methodology to calculate constant and dynamic indexes of coaching efficiency.
Conclusions and Relevance The division of coaching efficiency indicators into constant and dynamic solves the problem of considering the specifics of coach’s work with athletes at various stages of preparation, and enables to compare the efficiency of coaching labor with athletes of different ages. The method is applicable to measure the efficiency of coaching labor at the level of individual organization, city, and subject of the Russian Federation.
