The article presents a retrospective statistical analysis of the main indicators of the performance of the agricultural Orenburg region from 1990 to 2012. The paper considers the contribution of various categories of producers in volume production, in general, and by crop and livestock production. The authors identify the causes of imbalances in the structure of commodity producers. Influence of factors of production is estimated to gross value added of agriculture in the region based on regression models. As a result, the authors make a conclusion concerning the decline depth in this kind of activity and the development prospects in stiff competition from foreign producers.
