The present research work analyzes the state of the fixed assets in the Russian Federation, leading to the conclusion of the critical situation of the economic development. It studies the economic and mathematical models of investment management the aim of which is expansion and change of the production line. It also proposes the ways of assessing the sustainability of the results. The analytical and concept-theoretical blocks of the article are supplemented with the working model of an electric-tools manufacturer. These blocks as well contain some practical advice for the business owners who face the problem of the production expanding.
